A Young Life Stolen: The Hospital Death of Kayla Juvinall
At just 29 years old, Kayla Juvinall was full of life and love. A devoted mother, she was expecting another child when she was admitted to Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign, Illinois, in August 2021. What should have been a moment of joy—the anticipation of new life—turned into a nightmare of betrayal, fear, and unbearable loss.
From the beginning, Kayla was not treated as a precious young woman carrying new life, but as a subject to the deadly COVID protocol system. She was isolated from her family, stripped of her rights, and quickly forced into a regime of dangerous, government-incentivized drugs. Teresa, her mother, begged for other options, simple vitamins like Vitamin D, known to help the immune system, but these were flatly denied. Instead, Kayla was given a cocktail of sedatives, paralytics, blood thinners, fentanyl, and propofol, and other drugs that impaired her ability to fight and stripped her of awareness.
Like so many others, Kayla was pressured into a Do Not Resuscitate order and physically restrained. She was deprived of food and water, left to waste away while doctors insisted this was “care.” The escalation was predictable: aggressive oxygen, sedation, and ultimately the ventilator—each step designed not to heal but to hasten decline. These tactics, repeated across the country, make up the grim hospital playbook of betrayal: forced protocol drugs, denied safe treatments, isolation, and manipulation that led far too often to preventable death.
But Kayla’s story carries especially cruel heartbreak. She gave birth to a premature daughter while imprisoned in this system of abuse. Yet the hospital never allowed her to hold her baby girl. That chance—to feel her newborn in her arms, to whisper words of love and comfort—was stolen. Instead, Kayla was kept sedated and separated, her role as a mother ripped away before her life was taken.
On September 30, 2021, Kayla died in that hospital bed. She left behind not just her newborn daughter, but also two other children who adored her. Now Teresa, their grandmother, carries the crushing responsibility of raising Kayla’s three children. The grief of losing her daughter is compounded daily by the cries and questions of children who miss their mother terribly and cannot understand why she never came home.
Kayla’s death was not a tragic accident—it was the direct result of egregious crimes against humanity committed under the banner of hospital protocols. She should be here today, raising her babies, living her life. Instead, her family is left with devastation, anger, and the knowledge that her death could have—and should have—been prevented.
Betrayal Project USA exists to ensure that stories like Kayla’s are never silenced. We are giving victims and their families a platform to tell the truth, demanding reform and accountability, and building a community of support for widows, widowers, parents, and children whose lives have been shattered.
If you or a loved one has been harmed by COVID-era hospital protocols, shots, or policies, we invite you to share your story at betrayalprojectusa.org. These atrocities must be stopped, and together we will fight for truth, justice, and an end to this cycle of medical betrayal.
