A Vietnam Veteran Betrayed: The Murder of Larry Andrews
Larry Andrews was a proud 75-year-old Vietnam Veteran, a man who had once risked his life for his country and returned home with honor. But in March of 2021, when he entered Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Alabama, Larry became a victim of a very different kind of war—one waged not on foreign soil but within the walls of an American hospital. His wife, Janie, describes his death not as a tragedy of illness, but as a calculated act carried out under the guise of “medical care.”
From the start, Larry was isolated from his family, stripped of dignity, and placed under the control of a rigid and harmful hospital protocol. Janie fought for him every step of the way—questioning drugs, resisting the constant push for a Do Not Resuscitate order, and begging for treatments she knew might help him. Instead of compassion, she met indifference. Larry was pumped full of toxic drugs—Remdesivir, morphine, sedatives, steroids—while being deprived of food, water, and basic care. Each choice by the hospital drove him further from healing and closer to death.
One of the most haunting moments came when a nurse, whom Janie will never forget, quietly allowed her to see Larry for just 15 minutes. In that brief visit, Janie realized the awful truth: they were going to kill her husband. The nurse’s demeanor and silence made it clear she knew exactly what was happening, but she did nothing to stop it. That unspoken complicity has haunted Janie ever since.
At the time of Larry’s death on March 26, 2021, that same nurse approached Janie and uttered words that confirmed the darkest fears. She told Janie, “This is biological warfare.” At one point Janie realized that she had deleted photos from Larry’s phone serving as evidence of the visit not even 2 days prior. Erasing evidence, erasing memory, erasing truth. This was not the action of a caregiver bound by compassion, but of someone who knew she had been a part of something unconscionable.
Larry’s story echoes what countless other families have testified to across the country. The tactics were the same: forced isolation, denial of rights, starvation and dehydration, coercion into harmful drugs, and pressure for DNR orders. These are not isolated mistakes—they are a pattern. They are crimes against humanity carried out systematically in American hospitals under the banner of “protocol.”
Janie is left with the unbearable grief of knowing her husband was not only neglected but intentionally pushed to his death. Larry, who had survived war overseas, was betrayed by the very system he should have been able to trust at home. His life was stolen not by the virus, but by those who used fear, power, and profit to justify inhumane treatment and deadly protocols.
At Betrayal Project USA, we honor Larry’s memory by ensuring his story is heard. Our mission is to document these crimes, amplify victim testimonies, and demand accountability for what was done. We are a community built by widows, widowers, and survivors who know this pain firsthand. Together, we expose the truth, support one another, and fight to end these atrocities before more lives are stolen.
Larry’s death is part of a war the public was never told about—a war waged against patients and families through hospital policies that prioritized money over humanity. It is our duty to speak for those silenced, to hold accountable those who enabled this, and to ensure these crimes are never repeated.
