I Survived the Deadly Hospital Protocols, But They Took My Husband
In January 2022, Sharyn Dupont-Morehead entered Meritus Medical Center in Washington County, Maryland, as a patient, just two days after her husband, Mark, had been admitted. Both were battling COVID-19. Both were unvaccinated. And both would soon learn the hard way how the medical system treats patients who refuse to comply with the narrative.
Sharyn was admitted on January 22, 2022. She was immediately isolated, denied the treatments she requested, like ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, and pressured toward the hospital’s so-called “standard of care.” She was given remdesivir, along with a range of medications including dexamethasone, insulin, and antibiotics. She watched her own health worsen under their care, feeling the crushing effects of drugs she didn’t receive informed consent for. Constantly asked if she was a doctor when she asked for effective and safe alternatives. These policies are designed to keep patients compliant rather than informed.
Even as she struggled to survive, Sharyn’s heart and mind were consumed by fear for her husband. Mark was just down the hall, but she was not allowed to see him. She knew he was alone, restrained, deprived of food and water, and ventilated. She suspected they were giving him the drugs that were shutting down his body instead of helping him heal. While she battled to keep her own oxygen levels stable, she was also battling the helplessness of being locked away from the man she loved, knowing he was in grave danger.
Sharyn’s fight to live was a fight against the hospital itself. She refused to be silenced, and was discharged as soon as she was able, and made it out alive on January 25, 2022. But her victory was bittersweet as Mark died in that same hospital on February 2, 2022, shortly after she went home.
Surviving the protocols comes with its own burden: the knowledge of what’s being done to others and the weight of carrying the truth when so many still don’t believe it could happen here, in America. Sharyn lives with the trauma of her own hospitalization and the loss of her husband, and she is determined to speak out so others will know what to look for and how to fight back before it’s too late.
Today, she tells her story through Betrayal Project USA, a national, victim-led nonprofit dedicated to exposing these egregious crimes against humanity, seeking justice for the lives taken, and offering a community of support for survivors. Sharyn’s survival is not the end of her story it’s the beginning of her mission to ensure no one else has to live through what she and Mark endured.
