Amy recalls the instant shift the coldness, the subtle hostility, the way nurses and doctors spoke down to her mother as though she was undeserving of care. What should have been a place of healing became a place of punishment. Jodi and her family were treated differently, made to feel like outcasts in a system that had lost its humanity.
Within days, Amy and Bradon were shut out completely. Jodi was separated from the people who loved her most. Calls for updates went unanswered, video visits were discouraged, and the family’s pleas for alternative treatments like ivermectin, Vitamin D, and zinc were denied outright. Instead, doctors followed the government-funded “standard of care”: Remdesivir, sedation, and the ventilator.
