A Mother’s Endless Grief: Wanda Dobbs’ Fight for Justice for Latasha

In the summer of 2021, Wanda Dobbs’ world was shattered when her beautiful daughter, Latasha, only 40 years old, was taken from her by what Wanda calls nothing short of hospital homicide. Latasha was young, vibrant, and full of life. Her smile could light up a room. She should have had decades ahead of her, but instead, she became another victim of the deadly hospital protocols that swept through this country during COVID.

From the start, Wanda could see her daughter being treated not as a human being, but as a body to be processed through a system that valued compliance and profit over life. Latasha was placed in isolation, stripped of the comfort of family advocates by her side, and subjected to a cocktail of sedatives, painkillers, fentanyl, and remdesivir. She was deprived of food and water, denied the most basic elements of survival, while her mother begged for different care. Requests for something as simple as Vitamin D were refused. Instead, Latasha was pushed down the conveyor belt of the deadly protocol until the day came when a doctor’s reckless action crushed her windpipe, stealing her last breath.

As if that were not horrific enough, medical staff attempted to transfer Latasha to another hospital but chose to send her in a cargo van with no critical care team onboard. Just a driver only. Just fifteen minutes into the journey, Latasha coded. She was rushed to a nearby hospital and briefly revived, but the damage was irreversible. She never recovered from that egregious harm. Days later, Wanda was forced into the most heartbreaking decision a mother could face, removing her daughter from life support.

Years have passed, yet Wanda’s grief remains raw and consuming. There has been no justice, no accountability. The doctor who crushed Latasha’s windpipe still practices medicine, shielded by a system that protects its own. For Wanda, this betrayal is unbearable not only is her child gone, but those responsible continue on as if nothing happened.

Her story is not an isolated tragedy. It mirrors what thousands of families endured: loved ones isolated, denied basic care, pumped full of dangerous drugs, stripped of dignity, and ultimately killed by the very people entrusted to heal them. These are not mistakes. They are deliberate choices that constitute egregious crimes against humanity.

At Betrayal Project USA, we stand with Wanda and mothers like her. Our organization is led by victims, widows, widowers, and survivors who know this pain firsthand. Together, we are documenting these stories, demanding accountability, and building a community of support so no one walks this road alone.

If you or someone you love has been harmed by COVID hospital protocols, coercive policies, or other forms of medical betrayal, please share your story at betrayalprojectusa.org. Every testimony adds to the record and strengthens the fight for truth and justice.

Latasha’s life was precious. Her story will not be erased. Through Wanda’s unyielding love and courage, her voice echoes as both a warning and a call to action: this must never happen again.
